Matthew Maury, CEO, Australian Council for International Development
Matthew Maury is the CEO for the Australian Council for International Development. He stepped into the role with ACFID after 16 years as the CEO of the international development organisation Tearfund Australia.
Matthew has over 30 years of experience working with relief and development organisations across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Pacific. Matthew’s career has spanned the diversity of the sector—from village-level rural development projects, to complex humanitarian emergency responses, advocacy and public policy development, disability empowerment work and executive management roles for local and global INGOs. He and his family lived in four countries across Africa over the course of 15 years.
Matthew has also served as the inaugural Chair of the Emergency Action Alliance and on the Board of Micah Australia and Make Poverty History. He also has been on the Board of the global networks called Integral Alliance and Micah Global.
